Stephen Selassie Asuo is the President of the Bureau International Development Exchanges and Commerce (BIDEC).
He has played a significant role in organizing events that connect the African diaspora with opportunities in Africa. Notably, he coordinated the Black History Festival in Washington, D.C., which aimed to expose the African diaspora to trade, innovation, and investment opportunities available through initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
