Renee Robinson

Renee Robinson is an international creative economy expert with nearly two decades of experience in content strategy, public policy, investment promotion, film finance, corporate governance, and international trade. She served as Jamaica’s Film Commissioner from 2016 to March 2023, becoming the country’s second-longest-serving Film Commissioner.

During her tenure, Robinson led the development of Jamaica’s screen industry by promoting the nation as a film business destination, advancing policy and legislation, monitoring economic growth, catalyzing film finance, leading national film delegations, negotiating co-production treaties, and overseeing more than 700 film productions.

Under her leadership, the film sector’s contribution to Jamaica’s gross domestic product (GDP) increased significantly, with film production expenditure rising from under US$5 million to over US$18 million between 2015 and 2019.
